International conference “Tradition and Innovation” dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the founding of New Bulgarian University and the philological programmes at the Department of Foreign Languages and Cultures, NBU, 4-5 June 2022 
Dear colleagues,
The Department of Foreign Languages and Cultures at New Bulgarian University has the
pleasure of inviting you to the international conference “Tradition and Innovation”, dedicated to
the 30th anniversary of the founding of New Bulgarian University and the philological
programmes at the department. The conference will take place on 4-5 June 2022 and depending
on the epidemiological situation may be held in-person onsite at NBU, online, or in a hybrid
form.
We invite papers that address topics in the following thematic fields:
  • Linguistics
  • Literature and culture
  • Foreign language teaching and teacher training
  • Translation theory and practice
A special section is envisaged for presentations by graduate and doctoral students.
Conference papers are welcome in Bulgarian, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian
and Greek. The presentations should not exceed 20 minutes to allow for a 5-minute discussion.
Following peer-review, conference papers will be published in a special anniversary issue of the
Yearbook of the Department of Foreign Languages and Cultures.

The deadline for completing the google form has been extended to 21 April 2022, and
notification of acceptance will be sent by 10 May 2022.
